You will learn first-hand how innovative logistics services are developed, how new markets are conquered or how existing processes are optimized. What you will discover

As an intern, dedicated students will have the opportunity to gain an insight into the challenging projects in an international environment. Will you be making coffee and running errands? Not here! Each intern is thoroughly integrated in the team and works both in a supporting role as well as autonomously on their own projects. You will learn all about the logistics industry in daily business and will encounter new challenges faced on a daily basis.

Whether the internship is mandatory or voluntary for you we appreciate your efforts and support and will, of course, remunerate you appropriately for your internship.

a)     Positions at  Schenker AG Head Office

After we have approved your application we will invite you to take part in a telephone interview. If logistically possible then you will be invited to a face-to-face interview in our Head Office in Essen.

During the interview you will have the opportunity to clarify any issues or questions you may have.

Have we given you enough reasons to take part in our internship program? If yes, then take the first step and send us your application by email to internship@dbschenker.com. Your covering letter and CV should be in English. Certificates and references can be submitted in their original language.

c)     Experience rail logistics first-hand at DB Schenker Rail

Through the DB internship program Train for TRAIN we offer internships in the areas of production (operations), finance/ controlling, IT,  HR and sales.

If you are at least in your third semester you can absolve an internship between two and six months and gain experience in a pan-European rail freight company.

What do you need?

We are looking for motivated and committed students for our internship. The pre-requisites are:

  • Good study grades, preferably with logistics, economics, personnel, IT or a comparable subject as a core subject
  • Available for a period of up to 6 months
  • Initial practical work experience preferred
  • Good- to very good level of German and English
  • A high level of intercultural competence (i.e. through a semester or traineeship abroad)
  • Confident in taking initiative
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
